Covid-19 Safety Protocol
We are delighted the UK Government has announced we can re-open from 4th July.
Our online booking system is now fully open and taking bookings from that date - keep an eye out for some special rates available to celebrate.
While we have been closed, we've taken guidance from the UK Government, Public Health England and The World Health Organisation on best practices and we've been busy updating our systems and procedures to make your stay with us as safe as possible.
Below is our Covid Safety Policy that we hope will make your stay with us feel safe, comfortable and relaxing.
We have implemented procedures that respect social distancing without being anti-social. The detail of how this works is explained below. However, this does not mean that we won’t be there for you when you have a question or need help. Aaron and Vanja live on-site and are available at most times to help you.
Arrival and Departure
Social distancing will be in place at check in and check out.
As we only have 5 bedrooms it is unlikely you are going to bump into large groups.
It would be helpful if you could let us know a time of arrival to allow us to spread arrival times. This can be done via the online Guest Registration form. We will personally welcome you with a smile.
Hand sanitisers will be available on entry and all guests are required to use it when entering the building.
Any payments due will be paid using the card used to confirm your booking.
If you would like to pay on an alternative card please let us know in advance.
We have hand sanitiser in the hallway and on landing and ask that you wash your hands once safely in your room and prior to leaving your room.
All objects and surfaces that are touched regularly will be disinfected, including bathrooms, door handles, light switches, TV remote.
Information about the surrounding area and things to do can be found on:
All soft furnishings are steam cleaned during changeover of rooms, so we can maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
During short breaks of 3 nights or less we won’t be servicing or entering your room, unless we need to for maintenance.
Linen is professionally cleaned in line with Government guidelines.
We have a good-sized dining room for breakfast which comfortably takes 5 tables.
Initially we plan to set breakfast times for each room, and use only 4 tables spaciously set out. This may change in the future depending on government guidelines.
There will be table service only. Please wash your hands or use the sanitiser before being seated and your food will be brought to you.
The breakfast buffet will no longer be available, but we will ask you to pre-order your starter and hot option before 8pm the night before.
This will be done online via Google Forms which is sent to you pre-arrival.
We will ask you your preferred time for breakfast and pace out breakfast times for guests.
Alternatively, you can order a Breakfast Bag that will be delivered to your room.
You are more than welcome to book on a ‘room only’ basis. We can recommend plenty of places for breakfast in the town just a short walk away.
If you wish to have a take-away evening meal in the Guesthouse rather than eat out, we have an array of delivery services offered by local pubs and restaurants - you are welcome to eat your meal in the dining room, at your table.
We are cleaning and disinfecting objects and surfaces that are touched regularly, particularly in areas of high use such as door handles, light switches and reception areas using appropriate cleaning products and methods.
Unnecessary paperwork, literature and folders have been removed from communal areas.
Cleaning and sanitising will be carried out on a regular basis to the highest of standards in all areas of the house.
We want our guests to stay safe and well, so please advise if within 14 days of check-in you have:
- had Covid-19 symptoms
- been tested positive for Covid-19
- knowingly come into close contact with someone who has had Covid-19 symptoms or tested positive for Covid-19
You will not be allowed to check-in and will be asked to return home as per Government guidelines on traveling.
If you cancel because of any of the above, we will allow you to reschedule free of charge.
If you should exhibit virus symptoms or be tested positive while staying with us, you will be asked to check out and return home as per Government guidelines on traveling.
In addition, if you are advised to self-isolate by the official Test and Protect service operating in England (or similar service) you will once again be asked to check out and return home as per Government guidelines on traveling.
Franklin Mount Boutique Guesthouse, Harrogate and the spectacular Yorkshire Dales National Park will still be here when you’re feeling better.
